Gidona graduated from the vet school in Gent Belgium in 1996. An MSc in Wild Animal Health followed at the zoological society of London. After a period of working with wildlife in the far east, she returned to the UK and took up a position as lecturer and clinician at the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies in Edinburgh. The role varied over the years and included exotic animals practice, wildlife rehabilitation and veterinary oversite at Edinburgh zoo. Since 2018 the focus has changed to free ranging wildlife as a lecturer in wildlife health and conservation medicine. Throughout she has taught both on undergraduate and post-graduate courses.

She has been a member of EAZWV since 2002. Always enjoying the camaraderie at the conferences and the support network of vets working in this area. With her background and interest in veterinary education she is looking forward to applying these skills to the educational activities of the organization.

 

Working Group Coordinator Job Description

The position of EAZWV Working Group Coordinator is an important advance in delivery of EAZWV’s strategic objectives. The  WG Coordinator reports directly for the EAZWV Executive Director and also works closely with the volunteer EAZWV working group chairs on a wide range of strategy delivery projects ranging from EU animal health policy to member service provision. The post is part-time role (aprox 50 hrs/month).
