Pilot Project for the 2026 Zoo and Wildlife Health Conference in Dublin
The European Association of Zoo and Wildlife Veterinarians (EAZWV) is pleased to announce the launch of a pilot Range Country Support Grant to assist colleagues working in range countries or developing regions who may face financial barriers to attending the 2026 EAZWV Conference in Dublin.
This new initiative aims to promote equity, inclusivity, and global collaboration within the fields of wildlife health and conservation medicine, ensuring that diverse voices and experiences are represented in our professional community.
Eligibility Criteria
Application is open to members and non-members of EAZWV. Applicants for the EAZWV Range Country Support Grant must:
• Be based in a range country or developing region, as listed here.
• Be actively working in wildlife health, conservation medicine at the time of application.
• Be willing and able to attend the in-person Zoo and Wildlife Health Conference in Dublin, Ireland 10-13 June 2026
• Applicants who have submitted an abstract for the Conference will be looked upon favourably.
Funding Details
Each successful applicant will receive a grant of up to €3000, which should be used to cover:
• Conference registration, EAZWV membership fees
• Travel expenses (international and local)
• Accommodation costs
The amount awarded will depend on individual travel and accommodation needs and may not exceed the total stipend available.
Recipient Responsibilities
Grant recipients will be required to:
• Attend the full in-person Zoo and Wildlife Health Conference 2026 in Dublin.
• Submit a short report after the event summarising their experience, thoughts and outcomes.
Application Process
Applicants are be asked to provide:
• A statement of purpose outlining their motivation and how attendance will benefit their work and career.
• A brief CV highlighting relevant professional experience to date.
Application should be submitted by email to: conference@eazwv.org, with ‘EAZWV Range Country Grant Application’ in the Subject bar.
The deadline for application is the 30 January 2026.
Selection and Notification
Applications will be reviewed by the EAZWV Board, based on:
• Applicant’s work in wildlife health and conservation medicine.
• Potential impact of conference participation on their professional development.
Successful applicants will be notified once the review process is complete and will receive further guidance on logistics and next steps.

This grant represents a pilot initiative for the 2026 conference, with the goal of building a sustainable, long-term program to enhance participation from range country and developing region professionals in future EAZWV events.
