Ice Breaker at Dublin Zoo

Time: Wednesday 10 June 2026, 18:00 - 21:00 

Location: Dublin Zoo

How to get there: Located in Dublin’s Phoenix Park, Dublin Zoo is easily accessible from Dublin city centre by public transport, by foot or by car. Get information here

Cost: Included in the conference fee.

Overview: Kick-off event where participants get to catch up with friends and welcome newcomers. Conference attendees and guests will enjoy drinks and snacks.

 

Poster Party

Time: Thursday 11 June 2026, 18:00 - 20:00 (TBC)

Location: DCU, main venue

Cost: Included in the conference fee.

Overview:  The Poster and Pasta Party is an opportunity for all participants to spend an evening viewing the posters and chatting to the authors over a simple meal (all poster presenters are required to attend).


Students (but all welcome!) Night Out

Time: Thursday 11 June 2026, starting at 21:00 (TBC)

Location: J. R. Mahon's

How to get there:  1-2, Burgh Quay, Dublin 2, Ireland 

Cost: 25€ (includes three drink tickets)  - not included in the conference fee.

Overview: The biggest party of the Conference - Join us for music, drinks & fun, we have the basement bar to ourselves! This event is run by the EAZWV Student Section - however, in keeping with tradition, other participants are also welcome (encouraged, even!) to join: The only pre-requisite to join is wanting to have fun!

 

 Student Mentor Mixer

 Time: Friday 12 June 2026, 17:30-18:30 (TBC)

 Location: DCU. main venue

 Cost: Included in the conference fee.

 Overview: The Student Mentor Mixer gives pre and post graduate students an opportunity to speak to   successful professionals and ask for advice, explore career options and get to know the opportunities available in the zoo and wildlife medicine field. 

 

 Irish Pub Evening

 Time: Friday 12 June 2026, 19:00 - 01:00

 Location: Old Storehouse Dublin

 Cost: 20€ includes Food and 3 Drinks

 Overview: Let's celebrate the conference together. The Irish Pub Evening is an informal dinner, giving you the chance to network and meet new friends and colleagues, while enjoying Irish music. 

 

 

 

 Zoo Visit & Conference Dinner

 Time: Saturday 13 June 2026, 14:00 - 23:00 

 Location: Zoo Dublin and The Guinness Storehouse

 Cost: Included in the conference fee.

 

 Overview:  On the last day of our conference we have a special treat for you! After our closing ceremony, we will make our way to Dublin Zoo, where the motivated staff have prepared different tours and behind-the-scenes visits. After the Zoo visit, we are making our way to the Guinness Storehouse, where doors will open for us at 8pm. Enjoy the Guinness experience, as you make your way up to the Arroll Suite where our conference dinner will take place! Enjoy a pint or two of the black gold and dinner completed with live Irish music!
