Cynthia Clamor

Hey everyone,

My name is Cynthia and I am a final year student at the University of Veterinary Medicine in Hanover.

After I started off studying Biology for one year with plenty of things that I loved about this subject, I still missed being more involved with live animals. I was able to pursue this when I switched to Veterinary Medicine and it did not take long until I had my first contact with the EAZWV at the Marine Mammal Summer School in Nuremberg 2014.

During my studies I gained experience and interest in working with more exotic species as a student assistant at the clinic for small mammals, reptiles and birds as well. In addition to performing externships in that area, e.g. in Wuppertal Zoo during my clinical year, I try to cover a broad spectrum of animals, having done my rotation at the clinic for small ruminants and pigs at my university.

In total I have participated in three summer schools/workshops and four conferences; witnessing this incredible community that is so passionate about zoo and wild animals alike. Due to that I am glad to be able to contribute something myself by being part of the student board.
