"Saving the Wild Relatives of the Horse" Perissodactyla Conservation Symposium (SCF) is a collaborative effort between top zoo/wildlife and equine veterinarians, scientists, trainers, and other professionals, coming together to learn from each other, integrating ideas, experiences and knowledge, to develop novel ideas and solutions for conservation and also to better understand our domestic equids and how to best care for them.
SCF will qualify for about 20 veterinary CE credits. On-line registration is now open on our website: www.perissodactyla.org/. Early bird discounts are available until November 21, 2018. Additional discounts are available to university faculty, residents, students and employees of AZA and EAZA accredited institutions and conservation non-profits.
Lecture topics include medicine, nutrition, reproduction, behavior, conservation biology, etc.
Our planning committee includes Rodrick Barongi, and many others. Lion Country Safari is helping to host the symposium, and the Houston Zoo is responsible for the accounting. All profits will be divided between the International Rhino Foundation and the Tapir Specialist Group Conservation Fund.
