Veterinary Advisors to Conservation Programmes

EAZWV members provide expert support to a wide range of wildlife conservation projects including providing clinical services to free ranging or captive wildlife, advising on husbandry and management, contributing to policy development or undertaking research. 

Veterinary support to is facilitated by EAZWV through its work with EAZA. EAZA coordinates the management of captive breeding programmes in Europe as part of a wider global initiative. Part of this work involves undertaking research and providing guidelines for the most effective management of these species. Programme/TAG Veterinary Advisors colate information on the health of the species they cover and provides health management guidelines.
