Sabine Öfner

Head Veterinarian, Reptile Rescue Centre Munich


Sabine Öfner was born and raised in Munich. She was trained to be a vet nurse from 1996 till 1998 and continued to study veterinary medicine in Munich, where she graduated 2005.

She has worked at the formerly Institute for Zoology, Fishbiology and Fishdiseases at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich, which turned into the Clinic for Reptiles and Fish later. For 3,5 years she worked part time at the Tierklinik Gessertshausen, seeing mostly reptiles, some birds and exotic mammals.

In 2010 she took her exams as a certified specialist in reptile medicine in Germany. Sabine is an active member of EAZWV since 2009 and served as the Vice Treasurer of EAZWV from 2009 till 2013. Since 2014 she is the Treasurer of EAZWV, voted in at the General Assembly in Vienna.
