Zoo and Wildlife Health Conference 2020 - Venue and Location

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

COVID-19 UPDATE

Dear Zoo and Wildlife Health Conference Delegate,

After careful consideration of the risks and alternatives, we have come to the decision to that holding the 2020 Zoo and Wildlife Conference as a physical meeting would be unwise and we are therefore cancelling our Emmen 2020 meeting.

Despite these difficult times, we all still need to engage in continuing education to provide high standards of professional care to our wildlife patients. The EAZWV team is therefore exploring options to deliver as much of the scientific program as possible virtually over the summer months. We will be working on this with the Scientific Program Committee and the authors  and will get back to you with our proposal as soon as we can.

We will also start work on refunding your registrations. Each refund will need to be done manually so, as you can imagine, it may take a few weeks to get through them all. We will endeavour to refund online payments to the credit / debit card used.  We will be contacting those who have paid by bank transfer individualy so as to get your bank details for the refund.

Thank you for your patience and understanding

Venue:

The conference will be held at WILDLANDS Adventure Zoo Emmen, in The Netherlands. At the zoo you can travel the world in one day, though the jungle, savannah and polar region. Discover new areas, be close with the animals, and experience exiting adventures!

By plane? Fly to Amsterdam Schiphol Airport which is close to the capital of The Netherlands. Continue the journey by car, train or cab and it will take you approximately 2 hours and 15-30 minutes. Click here for more information on transportation from Schiphol.

By train? The NS train station is located directly below the airport terminal building. You can simply use the escalator or lift to go downstairs to the platform. From Amsterdam Airport Schiphol you first travel to Zwolle. There you switch from a NS train to an Arriva train and continue the journey to Emmen. For more information on traveling by train click here and here.

In addition to paper tickets, many Dutch people use a public transport card called the ‘OV-chipkaart’. You can use the OV-chipkaart on the train, bus, tram and metro services. Several different types of public transport cards are available.

By bus? Unfortunately there is no direct bus transport from Amsterdam Airport Schiphol to Emmen.

By taxi? Your taxi will always stop right outside the departure and arrival halls at the airport. Always follow the signs for taxis so you know you are getting into an approved taxi. For more information on traveling by taxi click here.

By car? Follow the signs A1, A28 and A37 highways. Wildlands does not have its own parking area, however there is one right next to the zoo. More information about the parking area of Q-park and corresponding costs can be found here. Further information about parking can be found on the website of the municipality of Emmen (dutch only).
