The aim of the Student Working Group (SWORG) is to enhance the communication amongst veterinary students and to represent their interests towards the board and the practicing veterinarians. The student representatives - consisting of a chair and voluntary students - are working hard to relief the life of students interested in zoo and wildlife medicine. They organise cheap accommodations and fees for conferences, enhance communication amongst students and much more. The webmasters are keeping the student members updated on changes and events relevant to their education in the fields of zoo and wildlife medicine. Others keep a database with information on institutions who are prepared to take students for externships, run a mailing list where you may subscribe as a student member. Veterinarians writing their doctorate are still considered students and therefore another goal is to encourage exchange on the subject of theses. The Student Working Group meets once a year at the annual congress.
The Student Working Group (SWORG) in short: - Producing the SWORG newsletter 3 times per year - Preparing a student program for the annual meeting - Collection of externship/internship data from European institutions - Searching for interesting links for students - Keeping the Yahoo!Group homepage updated
