Student President
Martyna GRABSKA

I’m a newly graduated veterinarian from Poland. I've been interested in zoological medicine since the moment I read 'A zoo in my luggage' by Gerald Durrell. The book made me want to travel the world and have my own zoo. Gradually, those dreams evolved. Love for the planet earth and animals led me to study Environmental Protection and then Veterinary Medicine, while my passion for travel made me spend most of my twenties backpacking abroad. I believe that working with zoo and wild animals very often is a collaborative work of passionate individuals. An organization like EAZWV brings those individuals together. I want to help create opportunities for other members to expand their knowledge and cultivate skills.

I’ve been involved in different organizations since the beginning of my studies. First, I was a member of the board of the IVSA Warsaw, I planned and organized three international student exchanges, multiple lectures, and workshops. Later, I was a secretary of the student section of the European Association of Avian Veterinarians, and together with other members of the board, we organized an online workshop last year. Before taking over the position of the EAZWV Student President, I’d been involved in the work of the Student Board as Education Officer. In my free time I enjoy hiking, bikepacking abroad, and spending quality time with friends.
